Further to InstaRentals last post regarding the BAA strike that was potentially going to take place has now been quashed. BAA have announced that the strike will not be held.
The strike was due to be held because of BAA staff requesting a rise in pay which BAA confirm has now been settled. Details of this are that BAA staff were unhappy at BAA’s 1% pay rise offer after accepting a freeze in their wages last year to assist the company during a tough time for the travel industry.
BAA confirmed on August 16th that it has managed to form the basis of an agreement with the trade union. BAA initially offered an initial 1% rise which was dismissed by the union. This was later followed up with another 0.5% raise which was also dismissed. BAA and and the Trade union finally settled on a 2% rise which sees BAA avert strikes that would have caused great misery for thousands of holiday makers.
Travellers will undoubtedly be pleased to hear that their planned trips from Europe to Worldwide destinations can now proceed with little disruption. If you have been holding off on booking a late trip then now is the best time to search for your perfect holiday knowing that you need not worry about getting there.
